Meet the Hoboken Team Behind DryMark Restoration Hoboken
We’re the crew that shows up when your ceiling’s raining into your kitchen at 2 a.m. or when a backed-up sewer line has turned your basement into something you don’t want to describe. Every person on this page lives in northern New Jersey, works out of our Hoboken dispatch, and has been background-checked, licensed, and insured before they ever knock on your door. What ties us together isn’t a handbook. It’s The Haven Standard, Clause 1 through 7, and the fact that none of us can stand the documentation gap that still costs homeowners their insurance claims.
Our People
Alicia Brennan, Owner
I started DryMark Restoration Hoboken in 2011 after six years as a claims adjuster, watching homeowners lose tens of thousands because no one had photographed the wet drywall before it was torn out, or because a contractor’s “estimate” was a number scribbled on a business card. That documentation gap became the problem this company exists to solve. I still ride along on complex jobs, especially when an adjuster needs to walk the loss with someone who speaks their language. My dry joke, which every crew member has heard too many times: “Dry” is not a feeling. It is a reading. I will say this while pointing at a psychrometric chart until the moisture meter hits the documented dry standard. I sign the 365-Day Done Right Promise on every job personally. Haven Standard, Clause 7.
Marcus T., Lead Water Technician
Marcus has been running extraction and drying crews for fourteen years, starting in Union City and joining us in 2019. He holds IICRC WRT and ASD certifications, which means he’s trained in both water damage restoration and the applied structural drying that gets Hoboken’s row houses and converted brownstones back to documented equilibrium without unnecessary demolition. Marcus specializes in tertiary drying, the final phase where most crews rush and we don’t: he tracks vapor pressure differential daily, adjusting equipment until the moisture content readings match the dry standard, not just the “feels dry” standard. He lives in Jersey City with two rescue pit bulls and a collection of vintage moisture meters that he insists are “actually interesting if you understand the technology.”
Senior Installer: Elena R.
Elena handles our reconstruction and build-back work, the phase where a water or fire job transitions from drying and remediation to actual walls, floors, and finished surfaces again. She’s a licensed New Jersey home improvement contractor with additional certification in lead-safe renovation, critical in Hoboken’s pre-1978 housing stock. Before joining DryMark in 2017, Elena spent eight years as a finish carpenter on high-end Manhattan renovations, and she brings that precision to insurance-funded rebuilds that too often get treated like patchwork. Her human detail: she will notice if your baseboard reveal is off by an eighth of an inch, and she will fix it without being asked, because “the adjuster’s photos are one thing, but you have to live here.” She commutes from North Bergen and knows every lumber yard’s current stock by heart.
Service Coordinator: Devon K.
Devon is the live voice that answers when you call (551) 212-1580 at 3 a.m. because your sump pump failed during a Hudson River storm surge. He’s been with us since 2020, and before that he coordinated emergency dispatch for a regional ambulance service, which taught him to extract the information that actually matters while someone is still panicking. Devon schedules every crew, maintains the photo documentation chain from first arrival to final walkthrough, and prepares the written scope that Haven Standard, Clause 1 requires before any work starts. He can tell you which Hoboken blocks flood first during a nor’easter, which building supers answer their phones, and whether your particular insurance carrier prefers moisture logs in PDF or their proprietary portal. He lives in the Heights and plays in a punk band that practices loud enough that his basement neighbors have his cell number.
Apprentice: Janelle P.
Janelle joined us in 2024 after completing the IICRC WRT course on her own dime while working nights at a Newark restoration company that she won’t name because “they didn’t document anything and I couldn’t sleep.” She’s our first-year apprentice, rotating through water, mold, fire, and biohazard crews to build the cross-trained foundation that The Haven Standard demands. Right now she’s specializing in Injectidry hardwood floor drying systems, the interstitial drying method that saves original pine and oak floors in Hoboken’s older buildings instead of tearing them out. Janelle grew up in Weehawken, can navigate the PATH schedule from memory, and has already developed the habit of photographing every layer she removes, “because Alicia will ask for it, and she’s right to ask.”
One Standard, Every Job

The Haven Standard travels with us whether we’re drying a flooded condo on Hudson Street or remediating mold in a converted factory loft near the waterfront. It’s not a poster in the break room. It’s seven clauses, signed by the customer and by us, and it means the same thing at every independently owned and operated location in our network: a written price before work starts, a photo record on every visit, daily moisture logs that satisfy IICRC, RIA, and IFA documentation requirements, and the 365-Day Done Right Promise stamped on every invoice. Our Hoboken crew is trained on Dri-Eaz, Phoenix, XPOWER, B-Air, and Injectidry systems, and we deploy the same equipment stack whether the job is a Category 1 water loss or a Category 3 sewage backup. The adjuster coordination that Alicia built this company around happens on every job, because Devon prepares the documentation package and Marcus or Elena makes sure the readings support the invoice. If you’ve received a written estimate from another restoration company, bring it to us. Haven Standard, Clause 4: Free Second Opinion. We’ll review it at no charge, and we’ll show you what’s documented and what isn’t.
